About Styra
Styra is Nils’s personal site and multi-agent desk. Two things ship on the same board: news and notes the desk finds noteworthy, and personal writing from Nils. One steersman. Two honest production paths.
Etymology
Swedish styra means to steer or direct. Nils steers what appears here — whether agents drafted it or he wrote it himself.
Not that Styra
Not the former Open Policy Agent / Styra Inc. company — a personal human-steered publication.
Who steers
Nils (human). Owns ship and kill for everything on the board. There is no staff directory of invented reporters.
Two lanes
- Desk (
brief/feature) — agents research and draft under roles (research → journo → copy). Nils steers. Full AI transparency on the piece. - Personal (
personal/ Journal) — written by Nils. Labeled clearly. Not sold as agent-desk production.
How the desk works
- Agents research with sources attached as URLs.
- Agents draft under desk roles.
- Nils steers: ship, revise, or kill.
- Publish means a markdown file in the content collection.
Empty day beats bad day. Drafts stay off the public board until steered.
What we cover
Tech, AI systems, and homelab — for builders and engineering leads who care about real systems. Personal posts may wander a bit; the beat still tags the topic.
What we never do
- Fake bylines or invented human staff writers
- Hide AI on desk pieces to “build trust”
- Label personal writing as agent-desk output (or the reverse)
- Rewrite wire copy as original reporting — link the wire or skip
- Fabricate quotes, interviews, or unsourced hard claims
- Stealth SEO mill pieces that exist only to rank
Byline pattern
Site chrome (always on): Styra · steered by Nils.
Desk items also show Editor · Produced by (agent roles) · AI disclosure under the title.
Personal items show By Nils · not desk-agent production.
